ALUMA

Wrinkles, fine lines, loose skin… besides a surgical facelift, it used to be Accent was the only real non-surgical option available. Today, our options have expanded to include a new radiofrequency treatment, similar, yet different than Accent, called Aluma. Aluma is a non-invasive, virtually painless treatment, which gently heats the deep layers of the skin to induce collagen remodeling. During and in the months following treatment, the body’s natural healing processes result in generation of new collagen and dermal remodeling. As new, “younger” structured collagen is laid down, the skin looks tighter, firmer and more youthful.

When skin laxity sets in, especially around the eyes, jowls or neck, a series of Aluma treatments can help reverse the aging process. Furthermore, Aluma treatments can help prevent the continuous weakening and debilitation of collagen deep in the skin, which contributes to the visible signs of aging.

“Like Accent, but different…”

If this sounds very similar to Accent- it is! However, there are distinct differences between these two
radiofrequency treatments. Unlike Accent, the Aluma uses bipolar radiofrequency and a gentle vacuum to
deliver therapeutic radiofrequency energy. Because Aluma’s radiofrequency energy is bipolar, less energy is
needed to heat the collagen building layers of the skin, resulting in less patient discomfort. In fact, a good
portion of patients treated with Aluma find it to be truly painless.

A series of Aluma treatment are recommended for best results. The skin tightening with Accent can be more dramatic, whereas the Aluma causes a more gradual improvement.
