DOHA Ô A young national who underwent a laser surgery at a private clinic here to remove pimple marks from his face so he could look attractive had a harrowing experience as his face is left full of red spots all over after the operation.
The man told Al Sharq he was having constant pain in the face and neck and was determined to file a lawsuit against the healthcare facility.
Narrating his plight, the citizen said he had pimple marks on his face and didn't feel comfortable about it, so he contacted a clinic and was advised laser surgery. "I had heard about the treatment so I agreed to go for it," he said.
He said he was asked to take the treatment once in 30 days for several months. After two months he said he began feeling some pain in his face, which he ignored thinking it might be an aftereffect of the treatment, and continued to receive the therapy. "I underwent the treatment for five months," he said.
When the pain did not subside the victim said he went to the clinic complaining that he couldn't sleep due to the problem. "I was told not to worry and the doctor who performed the laser surgery, a woman, wrote a cream to be applied on the face. The doctor told me that everything was normal and the red spots and pain would subside after using the cream," he said.
The problem worsened with the red spots spreading to the neck. This prompted the man to rush to the emergency unit at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC).
There, he was given a detailed report which suggested that an over-doze of laser therapy had led to the problem. "I am going to take the clinic to court," the man told the daily.
