Laser Bra Technology, Breast Lift Without Long Recovery Time

Nearly one in five people, who get invasive cosmetic surgery, get breast surgery. From breast augmentations, lifts and reductions, cosmetic breast surgery is just as popular as liposuction. We've been digging deeper into why Las Vegas women are flying to California for a lift. Every few weeks Dr. Grant Stevens says Vegas patients fly to his California office for a breast lift. But it's no ordinary lift. You've heard of lasers that help you stop smoking, lasers that help your face look younger, but how about a laser bra! "You have people that look at you probably in an inappropriate way and think things of you that aren't necessarily true because of the large breasts."Jodean Sinner has been waiting years to reduce the size of her double E breasts and give them a lift. "It's uncomfortable you get rashes underneath your breasts from the weight of them, physically just so many activities that you can't do." So after meeting with nearly 15 different surgeons, Jodean says a procedure in Marina Del Ray, California , known as the laser bra is the right one for her. "Hi Jodean, are you ready?" "I'm really ready.""Great, stand up we're going to mark you right here."Dr. Grant Stevens is the creator of the laser bra. A type of breast lift he says causes less bleeding, less time in surgery and a faster recovery. "I laser the lower portion of your breast here and actually create an internal bra that lifts the breast up internally and I fix it to your chest wall internally right here, ok, so it's like you're wearing a bra underneath the skin if you will."Minutes before surgery, Dr. Stevens maps out his surgery on Jodean's breasts. Marking everything from the size her new nipple will be to where it will be. "That's where my nipple is going to be?" "Yep, your nipple is going to be up there." "That's so cool."The laser bra procedure begins by treating the skin with a co-2 laser. "This is a co 2 laser; a carbon dioxide laser is being used to take the outer skin off of the breast." Once the skin is treated with the laser, it becomes very soft and pliable. Unlike traditional breast lift surgeries, this skin is not discarded. Instead, it will be attached to the chest wall, helping to create the internal bra. "In traditional breast lifting, all of this tissue that I've just affixed up here is thrown away-discarded. Some people will use a mesh, a plastic mesh right here that unfortunately can be felt by some women or the partner, it also has a tendency to get infected more frequently than when we use the patients own tissue."And this procedure enables Dr. Stevens to preserve the blood supply to the nipple so the patient doesn't lose sensation or the ability to breast feed. "It will last longer and look prettier, it's not just about lasting longer, and itĚs the over all result, this central fullness that you see here." Less than a month later, Jodean still has some swelling, but these before and after pictures speak for themselves.
It may look like a lot of scarring, but Dr. Stevens says the scars are far worse with a traditional breast lift. The Healthline 3 team spoke with Jodean and she says she's very pleased with the way her laser bra procedure has turned out. The laser bra procedure varies in cost depending on each patient. But Dr. Stevens tells us it can run between 10 and 20 thousand dollars depending on whether the patient also wants implants or a reduction.
