Surgery (LSPRAS)
Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery became a separate surgical entity during the Second World War when a group of general surgeons showed special interest in treating severe war injuries and difficult wounds and burns.
Gradually the specialty picked up momentum and extended to congenital anomalies and large disfiguring skin and head and neck tumor, Progressing to major reconstructive procedures to include the use of local and distant flaps. Micro vascular surgery added another dimension to our specialty and last but not least Esthetic Surgery has progressed tremendously, offering to the modern and competitive world several new techniques to reshape and rejuvenate the entire human body, meeting the demand of the critical eye searching for perfection.
