Take a dip into the Fountain of Youth, and feel good about yourself.

The cosmetic and laser center is the latest health spa to open its doors in Birmingham. Located at 33226 Woodward Ave. near the corner of 14 Mile, the Fountain of Youth offers a wide array of spa and medical services - from laser therapy and Botox treatments, to facials and deep tissue massages.

"The biggest thing in the world is to have self-confidence in yourself," owner Leanne Mangold said. "I was one of those people in high school who suffered from acne ... so I know how important it is to feel good about yourself."

Mangold, 26, is a young but seasoned entrepreneur. She grew up working long hours in the family business, the Holiday Market in Royal Oak. Her grandfather, Tom Violante, started the company in 1954.

He beams with pride when talking about his granddaughter and her accomplishments.

"To me, the most exciting thing is she's the fourth-generation of entrepreneurs in our family," he said. "My father arrived here from Italy in 1909 and started his own business ... now the torch has been passed down to her, and I think that's extraordinary."

The spa employes a fully trained medical staff, along with massage therapists and a nail technician. It also offers catered lunches, spa parties, yoga and aerobic classes.

It celebrated its grand opening on Thursday.

"When I was scouting locations, I loved the feeling I got when I walked into this place," she said. "We're centrally located right off Woodward and we have plenty of available parking for our clients ... my goal here is to make people healthy and happy."
