The membership of the Ohio Valley Society of Plastic Surgeons consists of Active, Emeritus, Associate and Candidate members. Membership will be limited to those individuals practicing in the States of Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia and the western part of Pennsylvania. Membership of other than charter members will be by invitation. Election is by written ballot submitted to all Voting Members attending the annual business meeting. The minimum requirement for Active Membership is Board Certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc. or its Canadian equivalent. Active Members must be actively engaged in the practice of the specialty of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. They are Voting Members and have full privileges of the Society. They are required to attend meetings and pay dues and assessments such as registration fees. Emeritus Members are former Active Members who have retired from active practice or have reached the age of sixty-five years. Candidate Members are physicians who are board eligible as determined by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc. or its Canadian equivalent and who are engaged in active practice of plastic surgery. They enjoy all the privileges of active membership except they are not allowed to hold office or to vote, but are required to attend meetings and pay dues and assessments such as registration fees.
