All eyes are on you throughout your Big Day, so you will want your skin to be in glowing condition.

Making sure that your skin will be picture-perfect requires advance planning and care. Brides, grooms, their parents and wedding party attendants may want to begin with treatments six to eight months before the wedding day.

Treating acne, erasing spider veins, whitening teeth and permanently removing facial and body hair are some of the pre-wedding services commonly performed by Tina Culmone, owner of Laser & Electrolysis by Tina, located on the border of River Canard and LaSalle.

Laser hair removal must be done over several sessions spanning several months. Then there are the last-minute enhancements that provide some pampering for the bride and groom, such as massage or manicures. In fact, everybody will benefit from VIP treatment: Culmone brings in her team to provide the wedding party with quicker treatments, like laser teeth whitening, manicures, pedicures and mini massages.

On the pages of the wedding planning book, couples might consider adding a few personal items to the schedule.

6-8 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE WEDDING

Photo skin rejuvenation to repair skin marred by sun damage, moderate scars, spider veins, acne, rosacea or age spots. Three to six treatments, three weeks apart, are typically required.

Laser hair removal to get rid of unwanted hair on the face, neck, underarms, legs, back or anywhere else on the body. Some men even get their beards lasered off so they will be perpetually clean-shaven.

Since each hair follicle grows at its own pace, it takes four to six treatments every six weeks to get at newly emerging hair. Men's beards are normally removed with six to 10 laser sessions, depending on the hair density.

Other options for removing unwanted hair are waxing or electrolysis. Culmone employs electrolysis for people with white or red hair, which her laser does not detect.

Electrolysis is also effective for eyebrow shaping.

2-3 WEEKS PRIOR

Teeth whitening by laser, a 15-minute process to lift stains and lighten and brighten tooth enamel.

WEDDING DAY OR SOONER

Makeup application for the bride, the moms and the bridesmaids. Women who like to test things ahead of time often opt to get a trial done on their way to the shower. Then they will know what to expect on the Big Day.

"Other people just go with my judgment the day of the wedding," Culmone says.

She advises all women in wedding parties to "make it look natural." Apply foundation while avoiding dark eye shadow, which can make the eyes look closed or droopy, and deep-toned blush, which may look harsh or muddy.

"Keep to the more natural tones. They pick up better in the photographs."

Strapless and spaghetti-strapped gowns reveal a lot of shoulder and chest area. To give the skin polish, Culmone recommends a "bronze mineral powder with a little shimmer. It brings the glow out."

A little darker bronzer brushed with a light hand can enhance cleavage.

With your teeth dazzling, your nails groomed and your skin clear and radiant, you and your wedding party can face the day with confidence.
